Name: Iskandar AKA Alexander the Great AKA Rider Door: Door Pass Canon: Fate/ Canon Point: Fate/Zero, episode 23 Age: 32 Appearance: Here History: Here Personality: ● positive: Confident: Iskandar isn't someone that doubts himself - ever, it often seems. Whether he's arguing a point, laying out a plan, or meeting with potential enemies, once he commits to a course of action he wades in without a moment of doubt or hesitation. While this does have the potential to work against him, Iskandar's judgement and instincts are sharp enough that it rarely does. That confidence, in turn, makes it easier for him to convince others to follow his chosen course of action. Leadership: Hand in hand with Iskandar's confidence is his aptitude for leadership. He was the king and commander of the Macedonian army and never lost a single battle during his thirteen year reign - and he fought in a lot of battles. Not only is he a brilliant strategist, he also excels at recognizing and utilizing the talents of those who follow him. Furthermore, his natural charisma and the trust he puts in his followers is enough to keep morale high and inspire an army loyal enough to follow him to the (presumed to be literal) end of the earth. Curious: It's fair to say that Iskandar is intelligent, but this trait is best displayed in his simple thirst for knowledge. The first thing he did upon being summoned into modern times was loot a bookstore in order to read up on what had changed in the 2000 years since his death. He never hesitates to explore a new place or immerse himself in a new culture. Upon arriving in Japan circa 1995, he immediately mastered the 'art' of wearing t-shirts, using mail-order services, playing video games, and binging on history and military documentaries. Iskandar's simple drive to press forward and see the world means that he's rarely left feeling out of sorts of lost in a strange situation. ● negative: Stubborn: The natural flipside to Iskandar being confident is that he's very, very stubborn. It's hard to make him give up on a course of action once he's committed himself to it, and even harder to make him doubt himself and his decisions. It certainly doesn't help that he has a solid track record to back himself up, either. Unsubtle: Iskandar hates sneaking around and relying on underhanded tactics to get his way, so he doesn't bother. And if that was all it applied to, it might be fine, but of course Iskandar isn't that simple. Hiding one's identity is essential to winning a Holy Grail War, but Iskandar openly introduces himself the instant he encounters another Servant. Though he's shrewd enough to read into the motivations of others, his own blunt, open nature makes him easy to read. Inconsiderate: Iskandar's worst habit by far is his tendency to run roughshod over other peoples' ideals or decisions. He never hesitates to speak up if he thinks something is stupid, ill-advised, or a waste of time. This especially applies to those in positions of power. He's more likely to tolerate careless behavior from citizens, but he has strong ideals about how kings, commanders, and Masters should behave and he's openly disdainful of those that go against said ideals. Powers and Abilities: Basics: As a mortal man, Iskandar was highly skilled in battle. Though shown to favor a one-handed sword in Fate/Zero, he's also shown to be skilled with spears. While he often fights on foot his specialty is mounted combat, and he's extremely talented at horseback riding both in and out of combat. Heroic Spirit: Iskandar is no longer a mortal man, however. He's a Heroic Spirit, a person that's made such an impression on the world that their essence has become immortalized and had their skills and raw power elevated to superhuman levels. Fate's in-universe grading system cites him as being forty times stronger, fifty times tougher, and twenty times more agile than the average human - but in more concrete terms, this means that Iskandar is able to casually rip through metal shop shutters, pick up an adult (if scrawny) man one handed, and keep charging forward at top speed even when he's been impaled by several weapons. Noble Phantasm: Another perk of being a Heroic Spirit is having a Noble Phantasm - that is, special skills, weapons, and items that are strongly associated with the Spirit in question. They're incredibly powerful, but require an enormous amount of energy to use, which means Iskandar is sharply limited in how often he can make use of them. Aside from that, they can be summoned and dismissed as needed. Iskandar's Noble Phantasms are as follows. ● Gordius Wheel: A chariot surrounding by lightning and draw by two massive bulls. It can also fly. While useful in battle for running down and trampling enemies, Iskandar often uses it as a simple means of transportation. By calling out its true name (Via Expugnatio) Iskandar can temporarily grant the Gordius Wheel an enormous boost in speed, power, and lightning, allowing it to deal that much more damage. ● Ionioi Hetairoi: This Noble Phantasm draws Iskandar and his target, be it the occupants of a single courtyard or an entire army, into a Reality Marble (i.e.: a pocket dimension) which contains an endless desert and the armies Iskandar commanded when he was alive. Iskandar and his armies run down their enemies; the only known ways to escape the Reality Marble are for Iskandar to dispell it, to kill enough of the army to destabilize its existence, or to employ some sort of skill or weapon that's specifically meant to destroy Reality Marbles. ● Bucephalus: Bucephalus is considerably less impressive than the other two Noble Phantasms on account of being a horse. He's a very reliable horse, however, and being a Heroic Spirit himself he is significantly stronger and faster than normal horses. Servant Bonuses: There are a few miscellaneous other perks that come with being summoned as a Servant. Being summoned as the Rider class has given him the preternatural ability to pilot or ride any sort of vehicle or mount (including all sorts mythical creatures save for dragons). He has some 'common sense' knowledge of the modern world as of 1995 (like what cars and streetlamps are), as well as basic knowledge of well known history and mythology up until that point. He can also dematerialize himself to preserve mana and conceal his presence, though his rarely uses it. Inventory: His sword Samples: Open Inbox PSL ( |
